Interior Design
Interior Design impacted my outlook on how to approach architectural design. During my studies at Academy of Art University I was fortunate enough to enroll in an intensive interior design 3D modeling class where I developed a deeper understanding of program space, lighting, and materials. This is where I obtained and refined my skills in Maya, 3DS Max, and Photoshop.
Interior Design Project List:
Cori’s Café
Chair Modeling
Bedroom Modeling
Dining Modeling
Cori’s Café
For this café design modeled using 3Ds Max and Maya, I extracted ideas and principles from ancient Greek architecture with an emphasis on the Corinthian order. Using the grids of the various floor plan designs to create ornamentation on the ceilings of the café, creating light fixtures and door handles conceptualized from the lotus flower and palmetto plant, designing furniture that follows the mathematics of the golden ratio, and lastly using the golden ratio as the basic form of the floorplan. Thus resulting in “Cori’s Café.”
Chair Modeling
For this assignment we were introduced to Maya and 3DS Max to model chairs from a pre-selected group and replicate the form and angle. I was introduced to various tools such as Chamfer, Fillet, and Weld tool to obtain proper form and angle modeling techniques.
Bedroom Modeling
For this assignment we were to explore and model a bedroom setting. I was introduced to the Cloth Modifier and Cloth Simulation tools to obtain proper pillow and fabric modeling techniques.
Dining Room Modeling
For this assignment we were to explore and model a dining room setting. I was introduced to the Lathe Modifier and Spline tools to obtain proper table set modeling techniques.
